Overview
A growing e-commerce profit growth platform is seeking a Strategic Finance Associate to join their finance team. This is the second finance hire, working closely with the Head of Strategic Finance to manage monthly close, board preparation, data infrastructure, and financial analysis. The role offers the opportunity to influence company strategy directly through data-driven insights and to grow into a key data and finance leadership position.
Responsibilities
- Own recurring finance operations including monthly close coordination, transaction categorization, financial review, and commission processing
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial packages to founders, function leaders, and banking partners
- Manage quarterly board deck financials and support fundraising activities as needed
- Maintain and develop Tableau dashboards and other reporting tools to answer evolving business questions
- Serve as the central data resource across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and other teams, ensuring data consistency and accuracy
- Collaborate on defining new metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators
- Develop fluency in financial and operational data structures using Snowflake and dbt, contributing to metric modeling and data strategy
- Evaluate, implement, and maintain AI tools to enhance team productivity and data quality
- Identify automation opportunities in finance and go-to-market operations to improve speed, accuracy, and insights
- Stay current with emerging finance and operations technologies and share knowledge with the team
Requirements
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to build financial models from scratch
- Analytical mindset with attention to data accuracy and integrity
- Curiosity about data systems and how numbers are generated
- Detail-oriented and reliable with a commitment to consistency
- Low ego and high ownership mentality, comfortable with both detailed reconciliation and presenting to leadership
- 1–4 years of experience in finance roles such as investment banking, private equity, FP&A, corporate finance, Big 4, consulting, or startup finance
- Familiarity with SaaS metrics (MRR, retention, churn, NDR) is a plus
- Prior exposure to SQL, Tableau, or modern data tools, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn technical skills
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with data platforms like Snowflake and dbt is beneficial but not required
- Interest in AI and automation technologies applied to finance and operations

Location
This is a remote-first position with offices in New York City, Denver, Boston, and Chicago. Some travel may be required.
