Overview
This role is responsible for evolving how data-driven decisions are made across the organization. You will report to the CFO and serve as the lead point of contact for critical decisions grounded in trusted data and analysis.
The position brings deep visibility into company-wide data to support strategy at both the enterprise and team levels. This is a foundational hire with broad latitude to build processes and capabilities from scratch.
Responsibilities
- Own cross-functional KPI reporting, ensuring teams have accurate and timely visibility into performance and proactively communicate key signals as they emerge.
- Lead ad hoc strategic planning efforts, partnering with leadership to evaluate new initiatives, market opportunities, and business tradeoffs.
- Act as the first responder for ad hoc analysis requests from stakeholders across the organization, from executives to department leads.
- Own the full breadth of FP&A, including Board and investor reporting, long- and short-term financial planning, variance analysis, and other financial reporting.
- Ensure the integrity of underlying data used for reporting by addressing quality issues at the source (in partnership with relevant teams) rather than patching downstream.
- Build, maintain, and continuously improve data models and reporting capabilities, leveraging AI to take ownership of more technical aspects of data infrastructure.
- Communicate findings clearly to non-finance audiences, translating analysis into recommendations that support decisions.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience across investment banking, private equity, or a similar high-rigor analytical background, combined with experience in FP&A or strategic finance at an operating company (ideally a high-growth SaaS or software startup).
- Strong understanding of core SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR/GRR, CAC, LTV, magic number, burn multiple, rule of 40, etc.) and how they connect to the underlying business.
- Excellent financial modeling skills, with the ability to build clean, well-structured models that hold up under scrutiny.
- Proven track record of building processes/tooling from scratch, ideally using AI to accelerate development.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic thought partner to leadership by providing data with context and a viewpoint—not only reporting numbers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex analysis into clear takeaways for non-finance audiences.
- Highly organized and responsive; able to juggle multiple concurrent requests without sacrificing data quality or deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dbt and Snowflake, or comparable modern data-stack tooling.
- Experience at a company under ~100 employees, where reporting processes were built rather than inherited.
- Understanding of SQL.
- Familiarity with BI/dashboarding tools.
- Familiarity with FP&A tools.
