Overview
The Tax Data Analytics Supervisor serves as the tax analytic specialist, reconciling out-of-balance conditions for daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll completions within Workday, the organization’s collection process, and taxes paid/filed on behalf of customers. The goal is to ensure out-of-balance resolution complies with payroll processing and tax regulations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor overall pay-function activities, including payment activities, in collaboration with key stakeholders to drive quality improvement
- Work with the Team Manager to identify system improvement needs
- Act as the first point of escalation for customer and internal issues related to tax analytics
- Provide direction, instructions, and/or training to the team
- Assist the team with daily tasks and support special team projects as needed
- Perform routine audits for tax balancing actions and ensure reconciliation communications meet required deadlines
- Complete daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliation of payroll and taxes processed in all US tax jurisdictions
- Apply credits based on reconciliation of taxes remitted on behalf of customers
- Research, resolve, and validate tax out-of-balance issues in a timely and accurate manner
- Communicate with customers and document the cause of tax discrepancies, including steps customers must take to resolve out-of-balance items within Workday (when action is required)
- Ensure appropriate actions are taken in compliance with tax authority requirements
- Analyze tax/payroll data at the employer and employee level, including inspecting and transforming data to discover conclusions and support decision-making
- Collect and analyze data, running mathematical calculations to determine the best solution
- Communicate with customers and document causes of tax discrepancies within quarterly/annual reconciliation reports
- Provide quarterly and annual reconciliation reports to customers via the organization’s tax portal
- Communicate with customers via conference calls or the communication case system to explain reconciliation of funding to tax deposits remitted and obtain approval for further collections and/or refunds after quarter-end or annually

Qualifications
- 1+ year Payroll Tax experience
- 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Flexibility of hours to meet customer needs; overtime will be required

- CPP/FPC Certification
- Demonstrated analytical skills for data/numbers
