Overview
A growing organization is seeking a Tax Manager specializing in Direct Tax and Strategic Projects to join their expanding tax team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of direct tax compliance, strategic planning, and cross-functional business partnership in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Support high-impact tax projects related to business growth, new corporate structures, market expansion, and other strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Legal, external tax advisors, and other finance stakeholders to provide practical, business-oriented tax guidance.
- Evaluate and implement tax considerations for international expansion and evolving business needs.
- Drive process improvements to enhance the tax function's support of the business and scalability.
- Manage priority direct tax workstreams while balancing longer-term strategic and operational projects.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and respond promptly to complex, high-priority tax matters.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of corporate tax experience, ideally combining public accounting and in-house roles.
- Strong knowledge of direct tax, including federal and state corporate income tax compliance and provision work.
- Familiarity with international tax concepts and tax implications of operating across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience supporting strategic tax matters, process improvements, or special projects beyond standard compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain tax issues to cross-functional partners.
- Self-starter with the ability to independently manage priorities in a lean, fast-paced environment.

Salary Ranges (US-based roles)
- Region 1: $143,650 - $169,000
- Region 2: $130,050 - $153,000
- Region 3: $117,300 - $138,000
Salary offers are determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. Candidates residing in Alaska (AK), Delaware (DE), Iowa (IA), Mississippi (MS), Nebraska (NE), South Dakota (SD), West Virginia (WV), and Wisconsin (WI) will not be considered.
Location
This role is open to candidates in the United States, excluding the states listed above. Salary region will be determined based on the candidate's US location.
