Tax Manager - International/Foreign

Overview

A well-established public accounting firm with offices in Syracuse, Rochester, Ithaca, and Watertown, NY, is seeking an International/Foreign Tax Manager. The firm provides audit, assurance, and advisory services to private and closely held businesses, specializing in areas such as tax, audit, client accounting advisory services, business valuation, forensic accounting, and financial planning. The organization has over 40 years of experience serving clients across various industries including credit unions, high technology and start-up companies, hospitality, manufacturing, not-for-profit organizations, and medical and professional practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of assignments including tax planning, consulting, and projections
• Prepare complex individual and business income tax returns
• Review individual and business returns of varying complexities
• Train and mentor staff
• Provide client service and contribute to practice development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• CPA or enrolled agent designation preferred but not required
• Strong technical skills with the ability to research tax issues
• Excellent communication skills and experience managing client relationships
• Creative problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently
• Desire to advance in public accounting

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $110,000 - $125,000, with emphasis on Foreign/International Tax expertise
