Overview
This role involves managing and reviewing tax engagements for clients while mentoring Staff and Senior Accountants. The Tax Manager acts as a technical advisor, providing advice and research assistance on complex tax questions and supervising multiple engagements simultaneously. There is a clear path for advancement to Senior Manager and/or Shareholder roles.
Responsibilities
- Direct large-scale tax consulting engagements for regional clients, including business and individual returns.
- Oversee ad hoc tax planning, research, and consulting projects.
- Schedule appointments with clients and gather information to prepare or arrange preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and manage service expectations such as reports and schedules.
- Determine fees for engagements with approval from client partner.
- Mentor Staff and Senior Accountants, providing learning opportunities during client engagements.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations to foster long-term partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and Licensed CPA (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax consulting experience.
- At least 2 years of experience leading and training Staff and Senior Accountants in public accounting.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
