Overview
This role is with the organization’s National Tax practice, supporting the Trust & Estate Tax team. Responsibilities focus on trust and estate work, with the potential to assist with 1040/1041 engagements.
This is a hybrid organization. The position is considered remote, meaning job duties do not need to be performed within proximity of a local office. Remote employees may be required to be present at an office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings.
Responsibilities
- Review gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns for the T&E group
- Handle PCS tax functions (personal, partnership and S Corp tax returns)
- Review fiduciary accounting for trusts and estates
- Provide tax planning and consulting to high net worth clients for estate and individual income taxes
- Manage all aspects of client relationships
- Manage a team of professionals to complete engagements from start to finish
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s in Tax is a plus
- CPA, LLM, or JD is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience with trusts and estates, as well as high net worth clients
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a public accounting firm
- Strong tax research skills
- Ability to lead, manage, and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
Compensation & Benefits
In Illinois, the salary range for a National Tax Manager is $110,000 to $170,000.
