Overview
A professional services firm is seeking a Tax Paraprofessional to join their Trust & Estate Tax team within the National Tax practice. This is a remote position, though occasional presence at an office may be required for client work, team meetings, or training sessions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns
- Prepare fiduciary accountings for trusts and estates
- Assist in tax planning and consulting for high net worth clients regarding estate and income taxes
- Conduct research on various estate, gift, and trust-related issues
- Interact with clients to gather data required for preparing and filing returns
- Prepare and review returns and reconciliation schedules
- Assist in project coordination including workflow, deadline management, and scheduling
- Schedule and set appointments with clients and internal team members
- Follow up with team members and clients regarding outstanding items
- Support other team members with engagement delivery, including legal research, report writing, and activity narratives on technical issues
- Assist with documentation analysis and other administrative duties
Requirements
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with firm and client personnel at all levels
- Willingness to work overtime as required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range in Illinois: $60,000 to $90,000

Location
Remote position with potential occasional office visits; most professionals are located within commutable distance to an office.
