Overview
This paid Undergrad Buyside Analyst internship (10 hrs/week) is an intensive, hands-on training program for students interested in dealmaking and lower-middle-market M&A.
The internship focuses on real-world business conversations and deal support rather than passive research or slow-paced modeling. Interns learn M&A fundamentals through daily outbound communication, negotiation dynamics, and the practical mechanics of deal structuring.
Responsibilities
- Call business owners and executives daily
- Navigate objections, gather context, and understand founder psychology
- Learn how buyers and sellers negotiate outside of textbooks
- Practice controlled, professional persuasion
- Keep conversations structured and outcome-oriented
- Support structuring deals in the lower-middle-market M&A space based on conversation insights
- Understand seller motivations vs. buyer constraints
- Evaluate fit, feasibility, and deal readiness
- Learn the mechanics of earnouts, seller financing, rollover equity, reps & warranties, etc.
- Observe how real deal conversations unfold and how structures adjust dynamically
- Support live buyer–seller interactions
- Prepare call notes, next steps, and negotiation plans
- Observe how valuation gaps and structure negotiations are handled
- Identify what kills deals and what revives them
- Track transaction pacing, sequencing, and the “psychological arc” of a deal
Qualifications
- Must be fluent in English
- Strong communication skills
- Fast learner
- Interested in taking on responsibility early
- Motivated to learn how deals really happen through doing, not only observing
- Comfortable with structured, dynamic conversation rather than spreadsheet-heavy analysis

- Interns who make the deal team and manage deal flow can make up to 20% of our success fee (several interns have accumulated a potential bonus pool of $50K+)
