Vialto Private Tax - Director

Overview

A global mobility services leader is seeking an experienced Director to join their Private Tax practice. This role involves advising high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) on complex U.S. and international tax matters, providing strategic tax guidance, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the growth of a cross-border tax advisory practice.

Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Technical Oversight

• Act as lead tax advisor for a portfolio of internationally exposed HNWI clients.
• Provide customized tax planning for pre-immigration, expatriation, foreign trusts, inbound investments, and global estate structures.
• Review complex U.S. tax filings and international information returns, including Forms 3520/A, 5471, 8865, 8858, 8621, 8938, 1041, and others.
• Manage tax risk and ensure quality standards on client deliverables.

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise and mentor senior managers and other staff across multiple locations.
• Support training, development, and retention strategies for private client services professionals.

Practice Expansion

• Build and maintain relationships with attorneys, private banks, wealth advisors, and other key intermediaries.
• Contribute to thought leadership and increase external visibility through events, whitepapers, and webinars.

Requirements

• CPA, EA, or JD with a strong background in international tax; MST or LLM degrees are a plus.
• Minimum of 8–10 years of U.S. private client tax experience involving international complexities.
• Proven expertise with foreign trust structures, U.S. estate and gift tax planning, and cross-border compliance.
• Experience leading client relationships and mentoring staff.
• Business development experience and/or a strong external professional network preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $161,300 to $264,900 annually.
