Accountant, Sr.

Overview

This remote, full-time Senior Accountant role supports the organization’s Corporate Finance department by assisting with financial reporting and accounting operations. The position reports to the Accounting Manager and helps ensure accurate records, timely month-end close, and compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Support fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, and general accrual processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Prepare and review monthly close journal entries to facilitate timely financial reporting
• Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure integrity of financial data
• Compile, adjust, and evaluate accruals to maintain financial accuracy
• Research and resolve account discrepancies and variances
• Collaborate with external auditors by providing documentation, explanations, and support during audits
• Maintain ongoing communication with business partners to ensure alignment on financial activities
• Implement and execute internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting
• Understanding of US GAAP
• Experience interfacing with internal and external customers
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon)
• Experience with NetSuite
• Experience with Tagetik for financial consolidation
