Overview

This role owns the close, compliance, and reporting engine for the organization, with a focus on US GAAP technical accounting, SOX controls, and SEC-ready financial reporting.

You will lead a small team of accountants, drive a tight month-end close, and partner with FP&A, tax, and legal to ensure financials are accurate, auditable, and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

  • Own the month-end and year-end close in NetSuite, ensuring reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analyses are completed within a 5-day close
  • Prepare and review financial statements and footnotes in accordance with US GAAP, including:
    • ASC 606 revenue recognition
    • ASC 842 leases
    • Stock-based compensation under ASC 718
  • Maintain and test SOX 404 internal controls, documenting key control narratives and remediating deficiencies ahead of annual audits
  • Manage the annual financial statement audit and interim reviews with external auditors by coordinating PBC requests and resolving open items
  • Oversee revenue accounting for subscription and usage-based contracts, including evaluation of contract modifications, multi-element arrangements, and deferred revenue treatment
  • Supervise and develop a team of 2–3 staff and senior accountants, including work review and building close automation in NetSuite and FloQast
  • Partner with FP&A, engineering, and legal on new product launches, revenue models, and accounting policy decisions

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, ideally Big 4 audit plus SaaS or technology company experience
  • CPA (active or inactive) with deep US GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606 and ASC 350/820
  • Hands-on SOX experience designing, documenting, and testing internal controls over financial reporting
  • Advanced NetSuite (or comparable ERP) skills; experience implementing close tools like FloQast or BlackLine is a plus
  • Experience managing external audits and preparing SEC reporting support (10-K/10-Q workpapers) is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong Excel skills and data-analysis capability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bonus: SEC reporting experience, NetSuite implementation exposure, or familiarity with R&D capitalization under ASC 730
