Accounts Payable Associate IV

Overview

This remote part-time Accounts Payable Associate role involves auditing supplier claims and supporting purchase order follow-up activities. You will review and validate supplier obsolescence and cancellation claims, ensure compliance with contract terms, and prepare audit reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Production Shift & Schedule

• Part-time hours (Production Shift): Between Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
• Schedule: Capable of accommodating a variable schedule

Pay

• $48.27 per hour (please note this rate may be below your state's minimum wage; consider this when applying)
• Estimated salary range: $48.27 an hour

Responsibilities

• Review assigned supplier claims and audit supporting documentation
• Validate costs and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions
• Prepare detailed audit files, reports, and recommendations for stakeholders
• Support PO Follow Up group for General Motors by:
  • Analyzing open purchase orders and identifying outstanding items requiring resolution
  • Coordinating with plants, suppliers, requestors, and buyers to resolve and close open POs
  • Researching and resolving discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Following up on open items to ensure timely resolution
• Review accounts payable transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures
• Communicate with internal departments, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding invoice and PO-related issues
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to purchase orders and accounts payable activities
• Assist with reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Prepare reports and perform audits to ensure data accuracy and timely resolution of outstanding items
• Monitor assigned workload and follow up on aging or unresolved items
• Maintain confidentiality of company, supplier, and financial information
• Maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and customer service

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• High School Diploma, or equivalent
• Experience in auditing, finance, purchasing, tax, or cost analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and Conditional Formatting
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple claim reviews and meet deadlines independently
• Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes and cost factors such as labor, materials, and profit
• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related professional experience
• Successful completion of a background check
• Previous accounts payable, accounting, purchasing, procurement, or related experience preferred
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Must pass an internet speed test:
  • Download ≥ 25 Mbps
  • Upload ≥ 5 Mbps
  • Ping ≤ 175 ms
• Must have the ability to connect with an ethernet cable to a modem/router

• Job Location: Remote

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay may vary by location and factors including experience and performance.
