Accounts Receivable Specialist

Overview

This position supports credit and collections activities, with responsibilities that include billing, cash receipts, and other accounting tasks as needed.

• Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm MST, Monday–Friday
• Remote work: Remote, but candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Monitor A/R aging and customer accounts to minimize past-due accounts
• Perform customer credit analysis as needed
• Initiate collection outreach, including calls, emails, faxes, and letters
• Work with Circulation and Advertising Managers to escalate collection actions
• Distribute A/R aging reports and discuss related issues with Circulation and Advertising Managers
• Use and maintain the A/R collections module in Circulation and Advertising systems
• Perform customer revenue and A/R trend analysis
• Refine procedures as needed while using tact, diplomacy, and ethical communication

Requirements

• Ability to analyze and resolve problems with some supervision
• Accounting process and controls knowledge
• Strong sense of urgency with attention to detail
• Ability to create Excel spreadsheets using formulas as needed, plus 10-key proficiency
• Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a team, with strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of automated collections/accounts receivable/accounting systems preferred
• Proficiency with PC tools including electronic mail software, word processor, presentation software, and spreadsheet software (Gmail, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred)
• GED or high school diploma; Associate’s degree preferred

• Knowledge of automated collections/accounts receivable/accounting systems
• Associate’s degree

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly range: $16.00 - $17.75 or required city/county minimum wage
• Pay is based on factors including geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, and more.

Location

Remote position. Candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio.
