Overview

This role provides administrative and analytical support across indirect tax, property tax, and income tax compliance activities. It is an entry-level position suited for recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in tax, accounting, or finance. Responsibilities include assisting with data preparation, reconciliations, filings, and documentation to support compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and filing of indirect taxes, including sales/use tax, VAT, and GST, under supervision
  • Support property tax compliance by maintaining asset data, tracking bills, and assisting with returns and payments
  • Assist with income tax compliance by gathering data for federal, state, and local filings, extensions, and estimates
  • Oversee the digital tax mail system, including review, categorization, routing, and accurate data entry of incoming notices and documents
  • Prepare and maintain tax workpapers, schedules, and electronic documentation
  • Perform basic reconciliations between tax reports, source data, and general ledger accounts
  • Track filing deadlines, payments, notices, and correspondence to support timely compliance
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Accounting, AP, AR, Fixed Assets) and provide administrative support for audits, projects, and process improvements
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or actively pursuing)
  • Internship, coursework, or exposure to tax or accounting concepts required
  • Basic understanding of indirect tax, property tax, or income tax compliance concepts is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to work with detailed data accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn tax laws, regulations, and internal processes
  • Basic analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude
