Overview
This role involves performing moderately complex financial analysis and research related to assigned brands. The Financial Analyst - Brand Finance will provide actionable business analysis and fact-based recommendations to the Brand Marketing team under the guidance of the Brand Finance Leader. Responsibilities include identifying and investigating issues and variances, conducting monthly operational expense analysis, building financial models, and assisting with the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly P&L forecasting, month-end close, reporting, and presentations. The position requires multitasking and collaboration with cross-functional business team members in a fast-paced environment. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager, Brand Finance.
Responsibilities
- Act as a business partner for assigned brands on accounting and finance-related inquiries, assessing business needs, identifying risks and opportunities, and communicating issues and results clearly.
- Participate in preparing and compiling the AOP and 3-year strategic plan for assigned brands, covering P&L and related balance sheet accounts.
- Update quarterly forecasts based on business changes and communicate actionable, forward-looking commentary and guidance on potential risks to business partners.
- Assist the business team in identifying solutions for challenges or risks.
- Participate in the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) volume forecasting process with cross-functional teams and monitor topline sales performance throughout the month.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks and resolution of unusual items or issues.
- Provide comprehensive financial analysis and models for various requests related to assigned brands, including innovation, customer analysis, and pricing.
- Lead project work across multiple financial disciplines such as FP&A, innovation, trade spend, and marketing investments.
- Develop standardized reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs) for assigned brands.
- Deliver periodic metrics, scorecards, and reports.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- Experience in P&L management and knowledge of financial systems and general accounting concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional general business and financial experience; experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry preferred.
- Experience with RI, Nielsen, and/or SPINS data preferred.
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion Essbase, Business Objects, and Prism preferred.

Scope
- Perform financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, financial modeling, P&L analysis, and support AOP and strategic planning activities for assigned brands.

- Salary range: $64,000 - $82,000 per year USD, commensurate with experience and location.
