Overview
This role is part of the Credit Analytics team responsible for managing, monitoring, and reporting on the performance of a $100B+ portfolio of largely transitional commercial real estate loans. The position involves close collaboration with the Asset Management and Servicing teams to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality reports and analyses. Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and a basic understanding of real estate finance, terminology, and performance metrics are required.
Responsibilities
- Model new assets in loan performance templates to report historical and projected cash flows.
- Customize templates based on negotiated loan terms or analysis parameters required by underwriters, servicing, and asset management.
- Review and summarize loan covenants from loan documents and enter requirements into an asset management database.
- Spread borrower-provided financial statements within financial models and advise on emerging asset-level performance risks.
- Perform loan-to-value, debt yield, and debt service coverage ratio tests; advise asset management on loan performance based on lender requirements.
- Gather market data such as rent, occupancy, absorption, and sales trends; advise asset management of emerging market risks within assigned portfolios.
- Process draw requests for loans with construction or renovation components and recommend funding conditions to asset management.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly asset-level reports in Excel and review for accuracy.
- Support the asset management team in daily responsibilities.
- Assist in preparation of quarterly collateral valuations and various ad-hoc reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Entry-level professional with 0-2 years of industry or relevant experience, typically at an analyst level or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and computer skills with thorough knowledge of Excel, including cash flow analysis.
- Ability to efficiently work with large datasets and present results as requested.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong reading comprehension.
- Strong business writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual full-time base salary range: $52,000 - $65,000.
- Specific compensation is determined based on interviews, education, experience, training, skills, geographic location, and market data.
- Certain positions may be eligible for a discretionary bonus subject to program guidelines and management approval.
