Overview
This role is with a company focused on reinventing credit to provide consumers with flexible buy now, pay later options without hidden fees or compounding interest. The organization aims to improve consumer finance through better data, technology, lower costs, and increased transparency.
The Risk & Analytics (R&A) team plays a critical role in shaping business strategy by partnering with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, Capital Markets, and Commercial teams. The team works across the entire customer and merchant lifecycle to optimize approval, conversion, losses, and profitability. Responsibilities include optimizing checkout conversion, mitigating fraud risk, building scalable data infrastructure, and enabling international growth.
Responsibilities
- Leverage data analytics to uncover insights that optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across different geographies.
- Monitor portfolio health by tracking performance metrics, user behavior, and macroeconomic trends; identify risks and anomalies.
- Write clean, efficient SQL and Python code to build scalable reporting; collaborate with Engineering to support deployment of machine learning and risk models.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to understand consumer lending regulations and translate them into data models and operational policies.
- Support alignment for new product launches and market entries to ensure they meet operational capabilities and risk appetite.
- Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to accelerate data mining and routine tasks while verifying outputs.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in an analytically-driven role; internships or experience in consumer lending, fintech, or financial services are highly valued.
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Familiarity with data mining, data visualization, and foundational statistical modeling.
- Basic understanding or strong curiosity about consumer lending regulations, fair lending principles, and application of machine learning to business problems.
- Strong communication skills, humility, and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with AI tools to enhance analytical workflows.
- Exposure to consumer finance or credit risk analytics.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range for California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut: $115,000 - $165,000 per year.
- Base pay range for all other U.S. states: $101,000 - $151,000 per year.
- Total compensation may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology spending.

Location
- This is a remote-first position with flexibility to work from almost anywhere within the country of employment.
