Overview

This role involves assisting in the preparation and filing of various tax returns and related documents. The position supports tax compliance activities including estimated tax payments, payroll tax filings, and maintaining tax records and databases.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimated tax payments
  • Create and request checks and mail federal and state estimated tax vouchers
  • Prepare household employer payroll tax filings
  • Process electronic filing of tax returns
  • Maintain tax refunds ledger
  • Review and compare gain/loss information
  • Maintain tax database to track client deadlines and filings
  • Maintain tax reporting system data
  • Print, collate, and mail tax returns to clients
  • Scan and organize electronic tax documents
  • Print and mail notices to IRS and state agencies

Requirements

  • CPA certification or working toward becoming a CPA
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • Prior internship experience preferred but not required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Prosystem FX Engagement, CCH Axcess, Microsoft Office products, QuickBooks, and Xero preferred but not required
