Overview
The organization is building AI-ready data centre infrastructure across the UK, Norway, Germany, Spain and the US, and is preparing for a US public listing following a Series A. Finance’s external reporting work is a defining project over the next 12 to 16 months, including building the processes and controls needed to support US GAAP consolidated financial statements, SEC-standard disclosures, and a quarterly filing cadence.
This is a build role with a hands-on focus in the first year. There is no team beneath the role at the start—this position will own consolidation, prepare the statements and footnotes, and run the tie-out process, with additional support expected as the function scales. As the reporting team grows and the filing cadence reaches steady state, the role is expected to progress to Director.
Responsibilities
- Own group consolidation across the UK, US and European entities, including intercompany elimination and ASC 830 foreign currency translation
- Prepare US GAAP consolidated financial statements with full footnote disclosure for audit and for filing
- Draft SEC disclosures to registrant standard, including:
- S-1 financial statement sections
- MD&A support under Reg S-K Item 303
- 10-K and 10-Q filings that follow
- Work closely with the Director of Technical Accounting, the VP Accounting, and the wider team
- Own the tie-out process to ensure every number in the statements is agreed to support, referenced and reviewable
- Build from scratch the disclosure checklist, annual and quarterly reporting calendar, and a close timetable that meets a 10-Q filing deadline
- Coordinate audit deliverables through first-year fieldwork and completion, and through subsequent quarterly review cycles
- Sign off the US GAAP group numbers that feed the statutory bridge, working alongside the Statutory Reporting Manager who prepares the local IFRS accounts
- Own the consolidated actuals used for management and board reporting, including review of non-GAAP measures and their reconciliations
- Select and implement disclosure management and inline XBRL tagging required from the S-1 onwards
- Support Reg S-X significance testing and Article 11 pro forma preparation as the site and joint venture portfolio develops
- Shape and, in time, lead the reporting team as the function scales
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA/CPA or equivalent) with 6 to 8+ years' experience, including preparing US GAAP consolidated financial statements and footnotes
- Hands-on experience drafting or auditing SEC filings (S-1, 10-K, 10-Q)—registrant side or Big Four
- Strong command of US GAAP disclosure requirements and multi-entity, multi-currency group consolidation, including foreign currency translation under ASC 830
- Working knowledge of Reg S-K and Reg S-X
- Meticulous tie-out and documentation discipline
- Experience taking external auditors through a full year-end cycle, and ideally through quarterly reviews
- Proven ability to build a process from nothing rather than operate one that already exists
- Willingness to do the work personally before there is a team to delegate it to, and the judgment to know when to start building that team
- Comfort with deadline pressure and shifting priorities in a pre-IPO environment (REQ-25)
Preferred Qualifications
- IPO readiness or first-time registrant experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary based on the work you do here, not your previous salary
- Equity
- Retirement/pension contributions
- Comprehensive health, wellbeing and insurance benefits
- Generous number of vacation days each year
Location
- UK, Norway, Germany, Spain and the US (role is focused on group consolidation and external reporting for entities across these regions)
