Collections Officer (Remote - LATAM)

Overview

The organization is seeking a Collections Officer to recover overdue accounts for U.S.-based customers. This is a phone-first role where you will manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts and work them until resolved. Success requires staying composed and persistent when customers delay, deflect, or push back.

Hiring is based on how you handle calls rather than how many years you’ve been in collections. If your collections experience is recent or limited, you are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of delinquent/overdue accounts.
• Make outbound calls and send emails to follow up on outstanding payments.
• Handle customer objections and payment delays professionally.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and follow up consistently on payment commitments.
• Maintain accurate records and document next steps.
• Work toward daily and weekly collections targets and KPIs.

Requirements

• Some hands-on experience actively working overdue accounts, including calling or contacting customers who owe money, handling objections, and negotiating payment arrangements (a few months counts).
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Comfort with high-volume outbound calls.
• Clear, direct, and concise communication style.
• Firm, persistent, and professional approach.
• Strong follow-through and accountability.
• Comfort working with targets and performance metrics.

This Role Is Not a Fit If

• Your experience is limited to reconciliation, posting, invoicing, or data entry with no direct contact chasing customers for payment.
• You have only handled inbound payment support or customer retention rather than pursuing overdue accounts.

Compensation & Benefits

• $1,300–$1,600/month, depending on relevant experience and demonstrated collections expertise.
