Overview
A division within a global power management organization is seeking a Commercial Insights Analyst. This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the United States. Relocation assistance is not provided.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 to $126,000, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and market factors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain trusted data assets and reporting solutions that serve as a single source of truth for key financial performance metrics, forecast indicators, customer and channel insights, product portfolio performance, and operational service benchmarks.
- Create and enhance a unified self-service analytics hub for Product Managers, Product Line Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Sales Operations, and division leadership.
- Support and advance AI data readiness by managing data, knowledge management, governance, and documentation practices to enable effective use of enterprise AI capabilities.
- Manage commercial data structures, SharePoint knowledge sources, semantic models, metadata, and foundational assets to support Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power BI, GitHub Copilot, and related technologies.
- Maintain access to relevant commercial data sources, ensuring datasets are clean, documented, governed, and fit for analytics, reporting, and AI use.
- Cleanse, shape, and combine data using Power Query and transformation best practices across Excel, SQL, Snowflake, SAP BW, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other approved sources.
- Document source ownership, refresh cadence, definitions, and business context to ensure data is analysis-ready and AI-retrievable.
- Transform and model data using Power BI, Python, R, and related tools to enable reporting, analysis, and AI-assisted insight generation.
- Build efficient semantic models using star schemas, proper relationships, optimized joins, governed measures, calculated tables, and KPI definitions.
- Design user-friendly reports aligned with organizational standards and business priorities.
- Create dashboards, landing pages, and self-service reporting experiences that consolidate key metrics and enable independent data exploration.
- Support commercial, product line, sales, and marketing initiatives by developing ad hoc analyses, reports, and data views.
- Assist with trend analysis, forecasting, and performance measurement to improve business planning and decision-making.
- Partner with sales, marketing, product management, and commercial leadership to identify opportunities, evaluate performance, communicate insights, and support data-driven decisions.
- Provide training, documentation, and support to business users and report consumers on self-service analytics, Power BI workspace usage, data literacy, responsible Copilot use, and best practices.
- Maintain a commercial data dictionary documenting KPI definitions, source ownership, refresh cadence, business context, limitations, and data lineage.
- Establish and maintain governance standards for commercial data, SharePoint knowledge sources, semantic models, and enterprise content to support consistent reporting, trusted analytics, and AI readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years of experience in business analytics or data science.
- At least one year of experience using SQL and analytical languages such as Python, R, or similar.
- At least one year of experience developing dashboards, scorecards, and executive-level reporting using data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Must be currently residing in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or support will be provided (including CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, F-1, H-1B, O-1, E-3, TN status, or related visa categories).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, or similar data transformation and automation tools.
- Understanding of semantic models, data modeling concepts, dataset performance, and governance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- Experience supporting sales, marketing, pricing, customer experience, or other commercial organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze sales performance, pricing, profitability, customer behavior, market trends, or commercial KPIs to inform business decisions.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into analytical solutions, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Experience working with enterprise data warehouses, ERP systems, or governed data environments such as Snowflake, SAP BW, Palantir, or Azure Data Platform.
- Experience preparing structured and unstructured business content for governed enterprise use, including SharePoint libraries, metadata management, documentation standards, semantic models, and approved knowledge sources.
- Ability to identify trends, develop forecasts, and generate actionable insights from business data.
