Overview
This role involves serving as a Corporate Tax Manager responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations both locally and internationally. The position requires collaboration with operations, finance, and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and filings. The manager will oversee tax audits, provide guidance on tax legislation, and develop tax strategies to optimize liabilities while maintaining compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file tax returns (corporate, VAT, indirect taxes, and others) across multiple jurisdictions accurately and on time
- Review tax filings and manage audits, reviews, and interactions with tax authorities, coordinating with external tax specialists as needed
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual tax provisions and financial statement disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards such as US GAAP
- Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation to comply with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
- Identify and assess tax risks related to multi-jurisdictional operations and collaborate with business units to mitigate these risks
- Monitor changes in local and international tax laws and regulations, providing updates to senior management
- Develop and implement tax-efficient structures and strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance
- Provide guidance on tax implications of international expansion and cross-border transactions
- Monitor company tax positions to ensure legal compliance and minimize exposure to audits and penalties
- Collaborate with finance and legal teams on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other corporate transactions
- Serve as the primary contact for tax-related inquiries from departments such as legal, finance, HR, and operations
- Work with finance and operations teams to drive tax efficiency aligned with company goals
- Oversee external tax consultants and advisors when necessary
- Promote a culture of tax compliance and awareness by providing training and support throughout the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of tax experience, including international tax matters and multi-jurisdictional compliance
- Strong knowledge of corporate income tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes across various jurisdictions
- Experience with transfer pricing regulations and documentation preparation
- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Familiarity with international tax treaties and their impact on business operations
- Proven ability to develop and implement tax strategies aligned with business objectives
- Proficiency with financial systems such as Netsuite and PowerBI
