Overview

A financial services staffing organization is seeking a skilled Credit Analyst to manage a diverse portfolio of credit accounts. This role involves conducting thorough due diligence, performing regular credit reviews, analyzing credit data, and preparing detailed reports and recommendations for senior management. The analyst will serve as a liaison between internal departments, external regulators, and clients to ensure effective risk mitigation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential and existing clients, including financial statement analysis and risk assessment.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews to monitor portfolio health and identify emerging risks.
  • Analyze credit data and prepare detailed credit reports, applications, and recommendations for management approval.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams such as product groups, risk management, and examination units to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Coordinate and communicate account information with external regulators including FRB, JFSA, BOJ, and SNIC.
  • Oversee covenant compliance and ensure adherence to loan terms and conditions.
  • Advise account officers on credit risk issues, including terms, conditions, and potential mitigations.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and improvement of credit risk management procedures and policies.
  • Assist in implementing new regulatory rules and procedures issued by the Head Office.
  • Train and mentor junior staff to promote continuous learning and professional development.
  • Facilitate the approval process for credit actions and loan sales, ensuring timely and compliant decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in credit review or a similar role within banking or financial services.
  • Proven expertise in credit analysis, credit risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and regulators.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with credit risk management systems and regulatory frameworks such as FRB, JFSA, BOJ, and SNIC is advantageous.
