Overview
A well-established financial institution serving Southern New England for over 150 years is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst to support its lending operations. The organization provides tailored financial solutions to individuals and businesses, focusing on responsible and secure banking services.
Responsibilities
- Analyze loan data and financial information from credit bureaus, financial institutions, and internal bank files.
- Review and evaluate new loan requests, renewals, and existing loans to assess borrowers' financial health.
- Prepare detailed credit memos, reports, and summaries for bank officers.
- Assign risk ratings to borrowers based on comprehensive financial analysis.
- Provide technical support to loan officers to facilitate sound lending decisions.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures.
- Monitor the loan portfolio and update risk assessments as needed.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving credit procedures and risk management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting.
- Minimum of two years of credit analysis experience preferred, or at least one year as a Junior Commercial Credit Analyst.
- Strong financial analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for report and spreadsheet preparation.
- Solid understanding of credit principles, financial statement analysis, and risk assessment techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
