Credit Officer II - SBA

Overview

This role involves reviewing and making credit decisions for small business loan applications in a centralized environment for complex loans, with a focus on SBA lending.

Responsibilities

• Spread financial statements based on information provided in the loan package
• Analyze global cash flow and balance sheets for SBA loans of up to $5 million
• Prepare written evaluations of customers’ financial conditions and future outlooks, identifying risks and mitigation
• Assist and mentor fellow team members in Credit and Portfolio Monitoring
• Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for process improvements and software development
• Identify and review all necessary due diligence items
• Negotiate terms and conditions of loans with loan originators
• Communicate loan decisions effectively
• Provide loan decisions and/or credit recommendations based on all underwriting criteria
• Collaborate with the Sales team to develop loan structures that meet customer needs and adhere to the organization’s risk appetite
• Operate within the risk appetites of Provide and Fifth Third Bank while consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types
• Follow applicable policies and procedures and elevate concerns to support appropriate risk management

Requirements

• At least two (2) years of experience in underwriting, portfolio monitoring, or similar business loan analysis
• Basic knowledge of commercial lending and credit standards, policies, procedures, and products
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to clearly communicate concepts verbally and in writing
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance or economics
• Familiarity with Fifth Third’s internal applications

Compensation & Benefits

• Total Base Pay Range: 71,100.00 - 145,900.00 USD Annual
• Base salary reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S.
• Individual salaries within the range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location
• Eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan; any payment is based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance
