It brings together inputs across businesses to develop a clear view of performance, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions—translating financial and operational data into insights that support resource allocation, stronger execution, and profitable growth and cash generation.

The Director of FP&A leads the segment FP&A team and partners with business unit finance leaders and functional finance teams, including Controllership, Government Compliance, Rates & Budgets, Pricing & Estimating, and Corporate Treasury. The role strengthens forecasting discipline, improves financial visibility, and supports decisions balancing near-term performance with long-term strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual operating plan, long-range financial plan, and recurring forecasts, aligning business assumptions with segment strategy and enterprise expectations.
  • Consolidate and analyze business results, explaining performance against plan, forecast, and prior periods across key financial metrics.
  • Translate financial and operational data into executive-level recommendations, highlighting emerging risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Establish reporting cadences, dashboards, and review materials to support accountability and timely decisions across the segment.
  • Partner with business finance, accounting, operations, business development, and Corporate FP&A to maintain consistent assumptions, reporting, and financial narratives.
  • Evaluate strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, capital investments, and resource allocation trade-offs through scenario analysis and financial modeling.
  • Challenge forecast assumptions, assess sensitivities, and improve visibility into business drivers and forecast reliability.
  • Standardize planning and reporting practices, improve data quality, and advance automation and analytics.
  • Set team priorities, coach finance professionals, and build organizational capability and succession readiness.
  • Partner with responsible functions to ensure FP&A deliverables align with applicable accounting guidance, internal controls, and company policies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of related experience; a graduate degree and a minimum of 13 years of related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years of prior related experience. Finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Progressive experience in FP&A or related finance roles, including leadership responsibility within a complex, multi-business organization.
  • Experience leading integrated planning, forecasting, consolidation, and executive financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect financial results with operational drivers and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating across matrixed organizations.
  • Proficiency with financial planning, enterprise reporting, and business intelligence tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Deltek Cobra, Empower, Deltek Costpoint, Hyperion/Smart View, Oracle, and FCSTGov.
  • Objective thinking and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to execute challenging assignments through completion.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence cooperation across functional areas.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of cost and schedule development, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, financial modeling, corporate forecasting, and/or business acquisitions.
