Overview

This role is open to candidates in Canada and Latin America, working in the EST timezone. The organization is seeking a Director of Finance who owns the finance function end to end, leads the finance team, and makes clear decisions.

This position is agentic: you will build and use your own AI agents and automations for real finance work, and you’ll demonstrate how you do it during the assessment and interviews.

Responsibilities

Build AI agents and automations that run finance work (close, reconciliations, and reporting) and teach the team to do the same.
Lead the finance team and own the finance function end to end.
Make clear ownership decisions so every task has one accountable person.
Close the books every month across multiple entities, including:
- P&L
- balance sheet
- cash flow
Lead the transition from cash to accrual accounting, including revenue recognition for subscriptions and refunds.
Keep Stripe and QuickBooks in sync and ensure the books are audit-ready.
Provide leadership with forecasts, cash reporting, and SaaS metrics including:
- ARR
- NRR
- churn
Work with a US CPA firm on tax.

Requirements

Experience building your own AI agents and automations for real work using tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. You will be asked to show examples during the assessment and interviews.
6+ years in finance, including experience leading a team.
Experience owning P&L reporting across multiple entities.
Deep QuickBooks Online skills.
Strong experience with SaaS metrics: ARR, NRR, churn.
Experience with Stripe reconciliation and US GAAP.
Demonstrated ability to speak up, make decisions, and act without waiting for direction.
Clear, simple written and spoken English.
