Overview
The organization is seeking a Finance Analyst to support expansion of its community solar portfolio across the United States. This role reports to the Director of Capital Markets and supports growth of the Finance and Capital Markets functions.
This position is 100% remote, with occasional in-person meetings required.
Responsibilities
- Develop proficiency in understanding, maintaining, and operating project finance models.
- Respond to modeling inquiries and tasks, including evaluation of new projects and ad hoc analysis of existing portfolio projects.
- Compile, organize, maintain, and distribute project diligence for financing transactions, including (but not limited to) construction debt, tax equity, and back leverage.
- Assist with tasks required for proper execution of financial closings and transactions.
- Support asset management and accounting teams with ongoing tracking of financial commitments and reporting to counterparties.
- Research and incorporate project-specific market and incentive assumptions into financial models, including:
- wholesale energy prices
- capacity and ancillary service revenues
- renewable energy credits
- property taxes
- state incentive programs
- Evaluate solar and battery project economics and investment opportunities, including:
- sensitivity analysis
- scenario analysis
- valuation of development fees
- comparison of project structures and assumptions
Requirements
- Preferred 2+ years relevant renewables/infrastructure project finance experience.
- Foundational understanding of and passion for the solar industry.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, especially modeling (Macros/VBA, lookup functions, etc.).
- Core understanding of finance concepts, including (but not limited to):
- time value of money (DCF, IRR, NPV, etc.)
- use of leverage (including debt sizing)
- accounting (three-statement modeling)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to excel in a highly entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to think creatively.
