Finance Business Analyst (Remote)

Overview

The organization is hiring a Finance Business Analyst (Remote) for a client in Phoenix, AZ.

This is a journey-level to senior finance/accounting role requiring advanced professional knowledge, discretion, and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, develop, maintain, and report a department’s budget and strategic plan.
• Research budget and financial matters; develop budget and staffing projections.
• Work closely with the Budget Office to prepare and submit the department’s annual budget and forecast staffing, costs, and related needs.
• Analyze department budget expenditures.
• Monitor department budget performance, including:
  • Projection analysis
  • Position control analysis
  • Board agenda item review
• Consult with leadership and other financial personnel on long-range forecasts of revenues, expenditures, demands for services, and other financial/business issues.
• Analyze departmental financial statements for accuracy, reasonableness, and adherence to budgetary policy, related standards, and laws.
• Assist in developing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards.
• May work across financial analysis, planning and budgeting, and/or cost accounting.
• Analyze and quantify processes and procedures; implement procedural changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Two (2) years of professional experience in accounting or finance, or 6 years of professional experience if the candidate does not hold a degree.
• Postgraduate degrees or professional level-related experience may substitute for education or experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.

Work Hours

• 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
