Overview

The organization is seeking a Finance Manager to lead core financial operations for a growing business with significant ownership over how the finance function is structured, systematized, and run going forward. This role combines traditional financial management—budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing—with a mandate to build the underlying systems, processes, and controls that will scale with the business, including a company-wide finance transformation to a single financial platform.

The Finance Manager will partner closely with senior leadership, contribute to operational and strategic decision-making, and gain exposure across multiple business lines and functions as the organization grows.

Responsibilities

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Reporting

  • Own the budgeting and forecasting process, including preparation of the annual budget and maintenance of rolling forecasts.
  • Manage the invoicing process end to end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Analyze run rates, project costing, and margin performance to inform operational and leadership decisions.
  • Prepare financial reporting packages and respond to ad hoc analysis requests from leadership and cross-functional teams.

Finance Transformation & Systems Design

  • Lead a company-wide finance transformation initiative, consolidating multiple systems into a single, unified financial platform.
  • Design and implement the financial systems, controls, and standard operating procedures that will define how the finance function runs.
  • Build scalable financial structures and reporting frameworks to support growth.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy across financial operations.

Account & Cross-Functional Support

  • Manage the financial relationship for a designated entity/group of clients, including billing, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Partner with operations and project teams on client engagements, providing financial oversight to help ensure projects track correctly from a cost standpoint.
  • Support project-based and on-site engagements requiring financial oversight, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Partner with other business units and support cross-selling initiatives across service lines.

Strategic Partnership & Leadership Support

  • Serve as a key financial partner to senior leadership, providing insight that informs business decisions.
  • Participate in leadership and planning discussions, contributing financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Support finance initiatives as operations and footprint expand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a finance management role, ideally within real estate services, construction, facilities management, or a related project-based business.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing at a company or business-unit level.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or improving financial systems, processes, and controls (not only operating within existing ones).
  • Comfort operating in a growth-stage, evolving environment with limited existing infrastructure—building the playbook, not just following it.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading or supporting financial system implementations or migrations.
  • CPA, CMA, or related certification.
  • Familiarity with construction, commissioning, or facilities management operations.
  • Experience supporting global or multi-entity finance operations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $90,000–$110,000 annually.
  • Comprehensive benefits include:
    • Medical, Dental, and Vision (enrollment starting on Day 1; coverage begins the first of the month following 30-days of employment)
    • Health Savings Account (HSA)
    • Gym discount
    • Mental health resources
    • Discounted group programs, including Legal services, Home & Auto insurance, Pet insurance, and ID theft protection
    • Discounted Group Life & AD&D
    • Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability
    • Employer-supported 401(k) with immediate 100% vesting, plus a 3% employer match and a 50% match on the next 2%
    • PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave
    • Employee Assistance Program available to all employees
  • Final compensation will be determined by job-related factors consistent with applicable law.

Location

  • Remote, with some travel.
