Overview

The Finance Operational Analyst II provides financial support for critical processes including the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and the month-end close cycle. This role involves preparing financial analyses, data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning, and reporting. The analyst collects information from various departments to build models that offer insights into underlying business dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial and business-related analyses, research, and forecasts
  • Compile and prepare reports using tables, graphs, and charts to convey information effectively
  • Collect and synthesize information across departments to build models and create written presentations
  • Develop and prepare analytical and statistical reports supporting business activities
  • Interpret, analyze, and implement complex business strategies
  • Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting, including variance analysis and sensitivity testing
  • Lead special financial and business-related studies to support project objectives
  • Conduct analysis of alternatives, recommendations, and research from multiple sources
  • Support functional and cross-functional projects and implement process improvements
  • Articulate the impact of analysis, modeling, and business decision support on key financial measures (e.g., Gross Profit, Operating Margin, DOH, DSO)
  • Conceptualize, complete, and present analysis supporting management decisions, forecasts, and initiatives
  • Act as an internal consultant interacting with appropriate management levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3-5 years of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience
  • Strategic planning, financial, and operations/business background preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Clear and concise communication tailored to audience needs
  • Active listening to identify important facts and relevant information
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills (numerical and verbal)
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience is a plus
  • Self-driven and highly motivated
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced organization
  • Adaptability to changing priorities
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and relationship skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, diplomacy, and judgment
  • Positive, proactive, flexible attitude with ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Statistical modeling skills are a plus
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
  • Experience with TM1 Financial Reporting & Planning tools is a plus
  • Good judgment required, especially when direct supervision is not immediately available

Work Environment

  • Remote position with the option to work from an office
  • May require occasional travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations

Physical Environment/Demands

  • Primarily office-based work in a temperature-controlled environment
  • Prolonged sitting at a desk or computer
  • Regular use of hands, arms, talking, and hearing
  • Use of calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment
  • Occasional stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching

Location

Remote role with flexibility to work from home or office as needed. Occasional travel may be required.
