Overview
This role supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of business performance. Responsibilities include both routine financial reporting and forward-looking analysis such as scenario comparisons and variance investigations. Where possible, you will explain what the numbers mean in practical terms and identify potential drivers behind financial movements.
Responsibilities
- Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
- Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
- Support budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
- Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
- Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
- Perform variance analysis that goes beyond stating differences (e.g., identify operational or financial drivers, and determine whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or need further review).
- Present alternative scenarios when outcomes depend on variables that may change, avoiding a false sense of precision.
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
- Comfort learning organization-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
- Strong numerical reasoning and attention to detail, with a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
- Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain drivers behind financial changes.
- Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
- Professional communication, responsible time management, and consistent ownership of assigned work from request through completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with forecasting and scenario analysis, with assumptions clearly visible rather than hidden inside calculations.
- Demonstrated ability to improve efficiency and strengthen documentation as recurring reports and planning cycles become familiar.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $68,000–$76,000 per year
- Job Type: Full Time
