Financial Analyst

Overview

This role performs financial and business-related research and analysis, including preparation of forecasts and/or analysis of financial reports, records, and trends. The position develops and maintains spreadsheets and databases to support analysis and reporting and conducts and documents financial analysis projects.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively and provide updates on project status and completion deadlines to management and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other departments, locations, and divisions to support project work.
• Communicate with management, subsidiaries, affiliates, and outside agencies to resolve problems and drive projects to completion.
• Perform financial and business-related analysis, including:
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting financial and statistical data
  • Analyzing financial reports and records
  • Providing reasoning for variances and making recommendations related to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures
  • Preparing forecasts and/or analyzing trends
• Develop and/or document business policies and conduct special financial and business-related studies in cooperation with other departments.
• Lead and document financial analysis projects, including ad hoc reporting:
  • Gather data, conduct analysis, document findings, calculate results, and generate reports for distribution.
• Serve as a project lead for special projects within the department.
• Coordinate project activities to ensure progress and completion within established timeframes, including ongoing communication with management and relevant third parties.
• Make recommendations based on findings when necessary.
• Utilize computer systems to input, retrieve, or display accounting information.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
• Use PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software to compile and prepare reports, graphs, and charts.
• Present analysis summaries to all levels of management.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the organization in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
• 3–5 years of relevant, progressive experience in Accounting and/or Finance.
• Experience with various computer applications, including MS Excel and/or MS Access.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range Minimum: $62,700.00
• Pay Range Maximum: $97,200.00
• Base pay is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, expected contributions, internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential that may apply for certain locations.
