Overview
A growing technology organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their Financial Planning & Strategy team. This role involves managing key planning workstreams including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support leadership decision-making as the company scales.
The position focuses on modeling demand for AI coding agent infrastructure, partnering cross-functionally, and building financial frameworks in a rapidly evolving market.
Responsibilities
- Own recurring FP&A deliverables end to end, such as departmental budget-to-actual reporting, monthly close packages, and rolling forecast updates.
- Build and maintain driver-based financial models for assigned business areas, including revenue, headcount, and infrastructure cost forecasts.
- Perform variance analysis that highlights business insights and guides decision-making.
- Support quarterly forecast cycles and annual budget planning by coordinating inputs from department heads and consolidating company-wide views.
- Contribute to board materials, investor deliverables, and executive reporting packages.
- Automate and improve recurring workflows by developing better tools, scripts, and processes beyond spreadsheet management.
Requirements
- Strong accounting knowledge, including understanding of general ledger operations, accruals, and the financial close process.
- Proficiency in building clean, auditable, driver-based financial models from scratch using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to extract, clean, and analyze data from multiple systems such as ERP, BI tools, and CRM exports.
- Clear communication skills to translate variance analysis into actionable business insights.
- 1–3 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or a related analytical role.
- Familiarity with SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, CAC, and payback period, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Comfort working in a fast-growing environment where planning complexity increases rapidly.
- Genuine interest in AI and developer tooling; a computer science degree is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition in a SaaS context.
- Experience with SQL and ability to self-serve data from business systems.
- Experience automating finance workflows using scripts or AI tools.
- Exposure to consumption-based pricing, infrastructure cost modeling, or developer tooling.
- Interest in building new FP&A frameworks in markets without established historical benchmarks.
