Financial Analyst

Overview

This full-time, remote Financial Analyst role is based in the United States and supports the organization by turning financial data into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the drivers behind differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
• Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
• Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, explaining meaningful variances.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
• Provide variance analysis that goes beyond whether a number is higher or lower; where information allows, help identify operational or financial drivers and explain whether variances appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Comfort learning organization-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
