Overview
A consulting firm specializing in corporate finance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Turnaround & Restructuring practice in Boston, MA. This full-time role involves providing strategic, operational, and financial advice to private equity firms, management teams, boards of directors, investors, hedge funds, and other stakeholders. The practice focuses on companies that are underperforming or undergoing transition.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day activities of the Corporate Finance - Turnaround & Restructuring client service teams on engagements
- Execute multiple tasks across consulting engagements including financial modeling and client presentations
- Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks such as 13-week cash flow models, three-statement models, and pro-forma scenario models
- Collaborate with turnaround and restructuring experts, professionals from other firms, and client contacts to achieve engagement objectives
- Assist in preparation of reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables
- Participate in marketing, client pitches, and product and practice development within a fast-growing consulting practice
- Maintain professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity in all work
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience, ideally in consulting or professional services
- Experience in financial modeling and analysis, including constructing and understanding three-statement financial models, cash flows, and scenario analyses
- Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data
- Strong skills in interpreting qualitative and quantitative analysis to develop insights and recommendations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to interact effectively with junior and senior team members, senior management, and other stakeholders
- Mature presence, empathy, intellectual curiosity, and ability to learn quickly
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands, and adapt quickly
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Familiarity with financial research tools such as Capital IQ or Bloomberg is a plus
- CFA, CPA, or technical/GAAP accounting expertise is a plus
- Willingness to travel as needed
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $135,000 per year
