Financial Analyst

Overview

This role performs financial and business-related research and analysis, including preparation of forecasts and/or analysis of financial reports, records, and trends. The position develops and maintains spreadsheets and databases to support analysis and reporting and conducts and documents financial analysis projects.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and as needed with outside agencies to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with other departments, locations, and divisions.
• Provide management with project status updates, including progress and completion deadlines.
• Conduct financial and business-related analysis, research, and forecasting; analyze and interpret financial and statistical data.
• Analyze financial reports and records, explain variances, and recommend actions related to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
• Develop and/or document business policies; conduct special financial and business studies and collaborate with other departments on analyses.
• Present financial analysis summaries and trends to management at all levels.
• Independently pursue problem-solving, document recommendations, and advise management on expected outcomes and ways to improve outcomes.
• Facilitate analysis and reporting using accounting information inputs/retrieval/display.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
• Utilize PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software to compile and prepare reports, graphs, and charts.
• Serve as a project lead for special projects within the department.
• Lead and document financial analysis projects, including ad hoc reporting (data gathering, analysis, documentation of findings, calculation of results, and generation of reports for distribution).
• Coordinate project activities to ensure timely advancement and completion within established timeframes, including communication with management and relevant third parties as needed.
• Make recommendations based on findings when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the organization in lieu of bachelor's degree.
• 3–5 years of relevant, progressive experience in Accounting and/or Finance.
• Experience with various computer applications, including MS Excel and/or MS Access.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong relationship-building skills.

• Ability to work independently under pressure and as part of a team.
• Ability to think strategically and act proactively to build trust and confidence with business units.
• Strong innovative problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range Minimum: $62,700.00
• Pay Range Maximum: $97,200.00
• Base pay is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, expected contributions, internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential the organization may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
