Overview
This role provides financial forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting for a high-growth technology business at the intersection of corporate finance and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include building the models and analyses leadership uses for operating decisions—revenue projections, budget-versus-actual reporting, unit economics, and scenario planning—grounded in US GAAP.
Because the organization is publicly traded or on that path, the position also supports SOX control testing, internal control documentation, and SEC reporting workflows. This is a hands-on role working directly in ERP and planning systems.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models for revenue forecasting, operating budgets, and long-range planning in Excel and an FP&A platform (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, or Pigment)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analyses, partnering with department heads to explain drivers and correct forecast assumptions
- Support quarterly close and SEC reporting deliverables, including drafting sections of 10-Q/10-K filings and reconciling supporting schedules to GAAP requirements
- Assist with SOX compliance: document key controls, coordinate walkthroughs with internal audit, and track remediation of deficiencies
- Analyze unit economics, margin trends, and SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, CAC payback) to inform pricing and investment decisions
- Streamline reporting by automating recurring analyses in SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
- Present findings and recommendations to finance leadership in clear, decision-ready formats
Requirements
- 3-7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, public accounting, or a related analytical finance role
- Strong command of US GAAP, accrual accounting, and the mechanics of the monthly/quarterly close
- Hands-on experience supporting SOX compliance or internal controls, or exposure to SEC reporting processes
- Advanced Excel modeling skills; experience with an ERP (NetSuite, SAP, or Workday) and a BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain financial results to non-finance stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CFA candidacy, or MBA
- Prior experience at a public company or in Big 4 audit
- SQL proficiency
- Experience with SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606)
