Overview
This role is for a Controller to lead accounting operations and implement institutional-grade financial frameworks for a company building a transparent, permissionless trading platform that connects traditional global markets with onchain liquidity. The organization enables anyone with a digital wallet to trade stocks, commodities, currencies, and crypto with full transparency, eliminating brokers, freezes, and hidden spreads.

- Value the protocol's collateral pool, open positions, and P&L; reconcile fee, funding, spread, and liquidation revenue.
- Perform daily reconciliation of onchain state to the books.
- Manage crypto treasury, stablecoin flows, wallet-level reconciliation, gas expenses, and protocol revenue with appropriate digital asset fair value treatment.
- Build and maintain reconciliation and control infrastructure leveraging AI and tooling to reconcile onchain data efficiently.
- Manage external auditors and drive audit readiness.
- Coordinate crypto and multi-entity tax compliance across jurisdictions.
- Support entity structuring.

Requirements
- Active CPA license with deep US GAAP expertise and experience owning a full audit-ready close.
- Hands-on experience in both traditional finance (positions, NAV, brokerage, or fund accounting) and crypto/digital asset accounting.
- Experience at a broker-dealer, prime broker, hedge fund, fund administrator, or trading firm with responsibility for positions, margin, and mark-to-market accounting, plus hands-on crypto-native accounting including onchain reconciliation and DeFi protocol revenue.
- Ability to read block explorers, understand wallets and smart contract interactions, and reconcile directly against onchain data.
- Proficiency with core ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks) and crypto subledgers.
- Proven ability to build or significantly rebuild finance functions in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to escalating issues with proposed solutions.
