Overview
This role supports financial analysis and modeling within a fast-growing energy services environment. The Financial Modeling Analyst develops and maintains financial models, evaluates project economics and financing alternatives, and provides actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models for utility, chilled water, renewable energy, and power infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate project economics, pricing, capital structures, and financing alternatives.
- Update model assumptions and validate inputs to maintain financial model accuracy and integrity.
- Perform sensitivity and scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of key project variables.
- Prepare financial reports, analyses, and presentations for leadership and project teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to understand financing structures, regulatory considerations, and other project factors.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Development, and Finance teams to support project planning and execution.
- Analyze project and business performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain financial databases, documentation, models, and analytical tools.
- Interpret financial data and translate findings into insights that support business planning and strategic decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related field, or four years of equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated expertise in detailed Excel-based financial modeling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the energy industry, market dynamics, and competitors.
- Ability to multitask and contribute beyond core responsibilities when business needs require.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and VBA, preferred.
- Experience in corporate finance, project finance, investment banking, or fixed income preferred.
- Comfortable working in a high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to 15%.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: USD $66,760–$89,185.
