Overview

This role involves providing general ledger accounting support across multiple client entities simultaneously. The position requires managing day-to-day accounting tasks for several distinct companies, maintaining accurate books through month-end close, and serving as a financial liaison for non-financial business owners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day general ledger accounting across multiple client entities, including recording transactions, posting journal entries, and maintaining accurate books through month-end close
  • Post customer payments and maintain up-to-date accounts receivable aging
  • Code vendor invoices to appropriate ledger accounts, obtain necessary authorizations, and schedule payments using automated payable systems
  • Reconcile bank accounts to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies to their root cause
  • Process payroll-related transactions and code them to the correct accounts
  • Prepare and reconcile fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules
  • Review trial balances before and after close, identifying and analyzing anomalies
  • Act as a point of contact for individual clients, clearly translating financial information for non-financial business owners

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of full-cycle accounting experience, including managing accounting for multiple client entities or subsidiaries simultaneously (experience in fractional/outsourced accounting, multi-entity corporate accounting, or agency-style bookkeeping preferred)
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven ownership of the full close cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and trial balance review
  • Working knowledge of accrual accounting and payroll-related entries
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, or similar cloud platforms is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and improve process gaps rather than only following existing procedures
  • Comfortable interacting with non-financial stakeholders in a client-facing capacity
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment managing multiple priorities
