Overview
This role involves leading global international tax strategy, planning, and risk management for a high-growth, technology-driven business. The position partners closely with the VP of Tax, senior finance leaders, and cross-functional teams to drive international tax planning, transfer pricing, Pillar Two readiness, and support strategic initiatives including M&A and global expansion.
This is a people manager role reporting to the Vice President, Tax.
Responsibilities
- Lead global international tax strategy and planning, including cross-border structuring, financing, and legal entity optimization to support business expansion and growth
- Partner with the VP of Tax on tax planning and implementation across M&A, international tax, transfer pricing, and global business expansion matters
- Own Pillar Two and broader OECD/BEPS initiatives; assess impacts, design and implement structures and processes to manage effective tax rate, and ensure timely compliance and reporting
- Manage and oversee international tax audits, including transfer pricing examinations and information requests; coordinate responses, manage advisors, and drive defensible positions aligned with business operations
- Design, implement, and maintain global transfer pricing policy, including methodologies, documentation, and intercompany pricing for IP, services, and cost sharing
- Prepare and maintain intercompany agreements and allocations aligned with operational reality and tax planning objectives
- Oversee key US international tax calculations, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, foreign tax credit limitations, withholding taxes, and global minimum tax calculations
- Monitor and analyze existing and proposed tax legislation (US and foreign), including Pillar Two rules, digital services taxes, and other developments impacting the organization’s global footprint; communicate implications and recommended actions to leadership
- Advise business and cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, Corporate Development, Product Teams) on initiatives, contracts, withholding tax matters, and customer agreements, ensuring alignment with tax strategy and compliance
- Collaborate with tax provision and compliance teams and the broader accounting organization to operationalize planning initiatives and support accurate reporting and forecasting
- Lead tax due diligence and structuring for acquisitions, investments, and new market entries; develop integration and post-acquisition tax roadmaps
- Develop and maintain scalable models to analyze effective tax rate, cash tax impacts, and scenario planning for international tax strategies; communicate findings to executive stakeholders
- Manage external advisors and consultants to ensure practical, high-quality advice and efficient execution across jurisdictions
- Drive continuous process improvement in global tax governance, documentation, and controls
Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant international tax experience, including hands-on leadership in audits, transfer pricing, global structuring, Pillar Two/BEPS, and planning for multinational enterprises
- JD, Masters, or CPA
- Experience with US international tax (Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, foreign tax credits), OECD BEPS, Pillar Two regimes, and common cross-border planning strategies
- Experience leading tax audits and controversies, including managing advisors, coordinating cross-functional responses, and communicating outcomes to senior leadership
- Experience designing and managing transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and documentation across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience structuring and planning for cross-border M&A, integrations, and global expansion, including legal entity and IP migration planning
- Experience with financial modeling, tax models, sensitivity analyses, and scenario planning tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience in the technology or SaaS sector
- Experience in both public accounting/consulting and in-house corporate tax roles within the technology or SaaS sector
- Direct experience implementing Pillar Two rules and global minimum tax regimes in one or more major jurisdictions
- Experience with ERP and tax technology tools supporting provision, compliance, and transfer pricing
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to work independently, multitask, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly align business objectives with tax strategies and effectively communicate tax requirements to non-tax stakeholders
- Strong analytical capabilities and judgment, with a practical, business-oriented approach to risk and opportunity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting complex topics to senior executives and cross-functional partners
- Experience managing and developing team members, with a commitment to inclusive leadership
Compensation & Benefits
Wage Transparency / Base Salary Ranges
Pay for this position is based on factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- California: $186,100.00 - $300,550.00 base salary
- Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Minnesota: $178,900.00 - $252,700.00 base salary
- Washington, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York (including NYC metro area): $178,900.00 - $262,825.00 base salary
- Washington DC: $178,900.00 - $262,825.00 salary
- Ohio: $157,100.00 - $221,900.00 base salary
Bonus and Equity Eligibility
- Bonus: Non-sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
- Stock: Eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
