Investment Banking Analyst

Overview

This early-career role sits on the investor side of the organization. Instead of building outreach lists for other parties, you will find and engage the right investors for opportunities that match their criteria, open conversations, and book qualified meetings between investors and founders.

The organization does not raise a fund. Investors invest directly in companies. Work focuses on investor introductions and relationship management, supported by a platform that manages pipeline, research, and follow-up.

You will work directly with the two co-founders and the investor team, within a flat organizational structure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain investor lists qualified by opportunity fit (stage, sector, check size, and recent activity) before outreach.
• Lead first conversations by writing short, specific messages tailored to the recipient, and converting replies into calls.
• Book and coordinate investor meetings with founders, ensuring the investor has the context needed before the call.
• Maintain accurate records by logging conversations, meetings, and outcomes so nothing is lost between calls.
• Use AI tools daily with clear judgment about where they improve work and where they could compromise quality.

Requirements

• Prior experience as an analyst in investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance, or capital advisory, including building investor or buyer lists on live processes.
• Ability to explain the difference between a long list and a qualified list, including how you move from one to the other.
• Proven ability to write a short, specific message to a busy investor that earns a reply.
• Ability to maintain a high pace while keeping quality high, and to follow a process without repeated reminders.
• Strong discretion: do not include any investor names in your application.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using AI tools in a professional workflow with appropriate judgment on quality and relevance.
