Overview
A specialized transaction advisory platform based in New York, NY, with multiple offices across North America, is seeking a Manager for M&A Tax Advisory. The firm focuses exclusively on assisting investors with complex domestic and cross-border acquisitions, investments, restructurings, and strategic transactions. The team includes former leaders from major accounting firms and elite legal practices advising private equity funds, infrastructure investors, pension funds, corporate investors, and portfolio companies across various sectors including infrastructure, renewable energy, healthcare, financial services, technology, real estate, and industrials.
Responsibilities
- Lead tax due diligence engagements and advise on transaction structuring for acquisitions, investments, and restructurings
- Manage multiple concurrent M&A transactions from kickoff through closing
- Identify tax risks, exposures, and planning opportunities throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Review purchase agreements, tax provisions, and transaction documentation
- Supervise and mentor associates and senior associates
- Maintain strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
Requirements
- Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD, Tax LL.M., or similar
- 6+ years of experience in M&A Tax Advisory, Transaction Tax, or Deal Advisory
- Strong knowledge of partnership, corporate, and transactional tax concepts
- Demonstrated client management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Big 4 Transaction Tax, Big 4 M&A Tax, Big Law Tax, National Accounting Firms, or Boutique Transaction Advisory Firms
- Experience with private equity transactions
- Cross-border M&A experience
- CPA certification is not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $160,000 - $220,000 per year
