Overview

This full-time Payroll Specialist position supports accurate payroll operations through reconciliation, financial record maintenance, documentation, and exception handling. Work should be traceable and verifiable so another authorized teammate can understand what changed, what remains open, and who owns the next action.

Responsibilities

  • Track unresolved payroll-related financial exceptions and ensure each item remains traceable through documentation and workflow.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for payroll-focused work, including clear records of what was done and what remains open.
  • Protect confidential account information and ensure sensitive data is handled appropriately.
  • Review financial inputs against supporting records to validate accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile discrepancies before reporting or processing to prevent errors and ensure data integrity.

Success Standard

Success means payroll records remain accurate and reconciled, with exceptions resolved or clearly assigned. Repeated errors should become visible over time, and documentation should allow verification of work state without reconstructing history.

Requirements

  • Confidently apply payroll-focused workflows that support operational needs across financial records and reporting.
  • Maintain financial records without losing track of evidence, owners, or deadlines.
  • Document spreadsheet analysis decisions clearly enough for another teammate to follow the reasoning.
  • Use sound judgment when providing audit support, escalating issues when needed rather than assuming.
