Overview

A rapidly growing ecommerce company is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to support its Marketplace Fulfillment business, a key strategic and high-growth area. This role reports to the Head of Marketplace Fulfillment Finance and involves partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to influence strategy, investments, and drive profitable growth. The position requires ownership of complex analyses, forecasting, and financial modeling to provide clarity on fast-moving initiatives and enhance financial transparency and rigor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-deal financial analytics by building right-to-win screens and unit economics models at the brand and SKU level, including sizing ramps and break-even points, while proactively identifying operational constraints and SLA risks.
  • Drive assortment expansion decisions by identifying high-ROI SKUs and modeling sell-through, cost-to-serve, and variable retail profit across fulfillment paths and phased launch scenarios.
  • Own and scale the quote engine by designing defensible, auditable cost-to-serve models that translate brand scope into standardized, automated quotes using SQL and Power BI, with CRM-ready outputs and clear approval guardrails.
  • Perform post-launch analysis by comparing quoted economics to actuals, identifying variance drivers, and continuously improving deal models, playbooks, and exception policies.
  • Provide end-to-end pipeline and capacity visibility by collaborating with Business Development, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Outbound teams to surface risks early, unblock execution, and ensure fast, accurate, and surprise-free launches.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of experience in FP&A, strategy, or operations analytics within ecommerce, marketplace, or fulfillment-adjacent environments.
  • Advanced analytics skills including expert-level SQL and Excel, strong Power BI capabilities (data modeling, DAX), and experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
  • Proven experience building scalable economics models, quoting frameworks, cost-to-serve engines, and operational guardrails supporting rapid growth.
  • Exceptional communication and business partnering skills, able to translate complex analyses into clear narratives and drive alignment across senior stakeholders.
  • Strong ownership mindset with collaboration skills, accountability, humility, and resilience to navigate ambiguity and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience influencing business decisions in high-growth ecommerce or marketplace settings.
  • Ability to work independently and lead initiatives in ambiguous, dynamic environments.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Flexible work arrangements allowing employees to choose their preferred work environment weekly.
  • Generous vacation policy, paid time off for wedding week, paid parental leave, and support for parents.
