Overview

This Principal, Strategic Finance & Analytics role partners closely with business, product, and analytics leaders across Luxe, Monthly Stays, and Airbnb for Business. The position supports investment decisions behind the organization’s fastest growing emerging businesses.

The role sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and business execution, advising leaders on where to invest, how to grow, and what the next priorities should be. Success in this role requires a CFO mindset—owning performance narratives, managing budgets, producing actionable insights, and supporting day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

  • Investment Decision Support: Build business cases for major investment decisions across Luxe, Monthly Stays, and Airbnb for Business; size opportunities, model returns, and frame tradeoffs so leadership can determine where to place bets and how large those bets should be.
  • Performance Management: Own end-to-end performance management for the incubation portfolio, including forecasting, goal and OKR setting, and executive reporting. Create scalable reporting frameworks that connect early signals to revenue and long-term value.
  • Full Funnel Analytics: Track and analyze full-funnel performance across demand and supply for each business; identify funnel leaks, root causes, and the value of fixing them.
  • Unit Economics and Scalability: Establish and pressure test unit economics for each business; determine which model components improve with scale, which do not, and what must be true for these businesses to become material contributors.
  • Capital Allocation Across the Portfolio: Assess how investment is allocated across incubation businesses relative to their potential; recommend reallocation when returns and readiness diverge from where capital is going today.
  • Presentations to Leadership: Synthesize complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for senior leadership; influence cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment on high-impact investment and operating decisions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in an analytical role such as strategic finance, strategy/management consulting, investment banking, financial planning and analysis, business operations, or private equity.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, with the ability to independently extract, analyze, and synthesize data.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, with extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, translating data into decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • High ownership mindset with strong judgment and attention to detail.
  • Experience evaluating growth strategies, ROI/efficiency returns, and the scalability of new business models is a plus.
