Remote Senior Financial Analyst - Reinsurance / Life Insurance

Overview

This role involves preparing and reviewing financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and statutory accounting principles, with a focus on life insurance and reinsurance accounting. The position supports technical accounting research, the implementation of new accounting standards, and collaborates with finance and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial reports following US GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
• Support technical accounting research and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards.
• Collaborate with finance and business teams on life insurance and reinsurance accounting matters.
• Assist with external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Develop financial analysis and reporting to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls.

Requirements

• CPA qualification is required.
• Experience in public accounting with a Big 4 or national accounting firm.
• Experience auditing or advising life insurance and/or reinsurance clients.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and insurance accounting principles; statutory accounting experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in public accounting or industry with a focus on life insurance or reinsurance.
• Strong technical accounting expertise and solid understanding of the insurance sector.
