Revenue Accountant

Overview

This role involves hands-on ownership of ASC 606 Revenue accounting, balance sheet account management, commission cost accounting, and inventory accounting. The position supports professional services and collaborates with revenue operations and customer success teams to drive system and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Review agreements to determine appropriate revenue treatment under ASC 606 guidance.
• Investigate billing, contract, and revenue recognition issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the month-end close process and prepare revenue-related account reconciliations.
• Document and implement revenue accounting processes and internal controls.
• Partner with departments such as Sales, Revenue Operations, Legal, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting to support business processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address customer billing concerns, system errors, and process inefficiencies.
• Participate in system automation and enhancement projects to improve the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Support financial or tax authority audits, reviews, and other ad-hoc requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
• Proven ability to analyze complex revenue transactions, identify discrepancies, resolve billing and revenue recognition issues, and implement process improvements.
• Strong communication skills across multiple platforms and tools, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external stakeholders.
• Team player with a strong work ethic.
• Experience working with complex ERP systems; Sage Intacct experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000 USD per year.
